Trumpet: Single Breath Exercises


   Single breath exercises should be played softly and as fast as possible.  And therein lies the crux.  Speed is impossible to attain without certainty in the fingering.
   Most air shortage, when playing single breath exercises, is not due to insufficient lung capacity.  It is due to hesitancy in the fingering of notes.
